23 Jan 2018 As of January 2018, Lifeline WA’s Prevention Services; specialised separation and bereavement counselling, will be available in Byford (Perth), Western Australia. Lifeline WA’s separation and bereavement Counselling is currently available to families and individuals, including children, at the Northbridge and Whitfords locations, and can additionally be accessed state wide via telephone and video call. The introduction of the Byford location will ensure more people can access face-to-face separation and bereavement counselling in the greater Perth region. It also highlights Lifeline WA’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable populations as part their mission to support people in crisis and create opportunities for emotional well-being. Lifeline WA Chief Executive Officer Lorna MacGregor says separation and bereavement counselling are an integral part of Lifeline WA’s services. “Marital separation, divorce, and bereavement are highly stressful events in a person’s life,” she said. “Providing prevention services to those most at risk relieves distress and empowers people to make positive life decisions.” Referrals to Lifeline WA’s separation and bereavement counselling can be made directly by individual/s or facilitated by an agency by contacting 9261 4444 or emailing reception@lifelinewa.org.au.
