Please help Lifeline WA to save lives
Friday 17 Nov 2017 |
The Festive Season is the busiest time of the year for Lifeline WA. It is the time of the year where levels of anxiety, depression and suicide increase. It is also a time of giving and, for many Australians, appreciating what they have in the company of loved ones. Your contribution to this campaign will help us train new Telephone Crisis Support Volunteers and continue to provide our valued existing Volunteers with ongoing training and support so that they can help the thousands of people who call 13 11 14 for help.
This year we will once again be Shining a Light for Life
by displaying our beautiful giant Christmas tree at Elizabeth Quay. This tree represents all the people who were brave enough to call our service and we hope that it spreads cheer and hope throughout the community. We will be turning on the lights on Friday 17 November
and would love for you to bring your friends and family along to join us.
You can also help by dedicating your Christmas tree and lights to the campaign or donating
. We encourage everyone to take pictures of their displays and share them on social media using #shinealightforlife
This year, our partners in the campaign, Synergy are encouraging families across Perth to not only light up their homes in celebration of the festive season, but also to support Lifeline WA. Synergy is upping the stakes for participants with thousands of dollars in prizes and a new website giving unprecedented access to information about the best lights displays in local areas. Topping all that off, Synergy will entertain children and families across Perth and major regional centres including Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, Albany and Bunbury with performances by the Synergy Christmas Elves. Your support this Christmas will help us answer the next call to 13 11 14 and could save a person’s life.
