Roles within the family have changed over the last twenty to forty years.

This table shows extremes to make a point. There are many individuals and families which were and continue to be exceptions to these ‘labels’.

N.B. We have generations of parents that were raised in these ‘1960’s’ style families, that are now parenting in a more modern style. 2000’s style of parenting does take more thought than the 1960’s style but is quite achievable when focusing on your children’s needs and best interests.
