A dad is a man who has children
he helps to raise.
A dad does things that are good for his children that help them
grow towards a healthy personal life and relationships.
 |
A dad is
a role model. |
 |
He demonstrates to his
sons how a man lives in the world. |
 |
He demonstrates to his
sons how to treat women and girls in the world. |
 |
He demonstrates to his
wife and daughters how a man lives in the world. |
 |
He demonstrates to
his daughters what she should expect of men in the world. |
 |
He does all these things
in an appropriate and respectful manner always mindful of all
people’s right for equality. |
Sometimes a dad excels at
being a dad, sometimes he is just a dad, and sometimes he falls
short of his own expectations. The measure of the man is in how
he responds to these and other life instances next time.

A dad wants to: |
Being a dad is not easy BUT
it is always a challenge.
The love for your child or children comes naturally BUT a man is
not born with the skills and knowledge necessary to be a dad.
He learns these from observing as he grows up and the mistakes he
makes as a dad BUT this is often not enough.
As children grow a dad has
to adapt and change as well.
There are times when a dad
knows he has done well as a dad.
There are times when a dad knows he has stuffed up as a dad.
There are times when a dad does not know what to do. |
